Dan Sescleifer was born in Springfield, IL to Arthur and Marthann Sescleifer, who themselves were raised in rural communities near Springfield. The family lived in Springfield, Illinois for all of Dan’s childhood. Dan Sescleifer played basketball in high school while achieving the academic excellence that allowed him to be accepted into The University of Notre Dame, one of the most prestigious universities in the nation.
